It is the largest producer of ultra high purity monochloroacetic acid (MCAA), an essential component in a wide range of end market applications ranging from herbicides to personal care and food products. It is also a leading global producer of speciality chemicals derived from chlorine and sulphur and also provides high-spec custom manufacturing for blue-chip chemical multinationals. Operating from four manufacturing sites in Germany, Switzerland and India, and with sales offices in the UK, China, Argentina and North America, it has 750 employees. In June 2011 CABB agreed the aquisition of KenFine, a custom manufacturing business, that will transform CABB's custom manufacturing capabilities into a global top three provider of intermediate chemicals to the agrochemical industry.
