The consumer sector is a longstanding area of strength for Bridgepoint. We have invested consistently across the sector through the cycle, with a strong focus on specialist retail, leisure and FMCG.
Typically, we focus our investment activity on companies that are strong performers or dominant in these sub-sectors. In retail and leisure, we have successfully supported established concepts and brands with clearly perceived consumer value and service; we aim particularly to work with experienced management teams to grow consumer businesses through geographic or product extensions. In FMCG, we look for strongly managed companies and a product or service with broad appeal to multiple groups of consumers.
